Update ?: We're Home!!!

We're home!!! Na-naw took us home and we arrived around 12:30. Lydia has that droopy-weak look but hopefully she'll bounce back real soon! Daddy's cutting Hanover Friends and we're all going to relax this afternoon. Lydia's taking a nap...hopefully a long one! Mommy's about to take a much-needed shower after that stay in the hospital! :)

---

I took some pictures of Lydia yesterday and Thursday, here they are:

Lydia has a fascination with the stairs now so she's trying to learn how to climb the steps, but thankfully hasn't figured it out yet!

Such an adorable little sister! Trying to climb the steps!

The ponytail in her hair is a new "style" for her because her hair is getting so long in the front that it hangs over her eyes, so mommy puts it up sometimes.

Standing up all by herself! Now she still falls and we get worried when she falls over but she's normally okay!

You see what I mean about "chipmunk cheeks?!"

This is Lydia Friday morning, you can tell she looks a little abnormal.

Lydia Thursday morning.

Taken Thursday morning.

Caleb and Lydia playing with each other through the window on Thursday.

Lydia and Caleb again.

We all want to say a sincere and hearty thanks to all of our dear family and friends who have been so caring and helpful while Lydia was at the hospital. (Mom and dad received many phone calls - unfortunately both of their cell phones were dead so they couldn't answer!) We greatly appreciate all of you who offered to help in some way, called and especially prayed for us all through this ordeal. God has been so present through your prayers and has answered the desires of our hearts by allowing our little Lydia to be back home safe and well with us! May Jesus bless you all!

Willingly Jesus',
Kimber

Update 14: Lydia

Mommy just called (Paw-paw hasn't returned yet) and said that they'll be released soon and hopefully we'll all be home in time for naps. She says that they can't really tell if Lydia's any better because she's hooked up to everything (poor baby; all those IV's and stuff sticking in her, that makes me shudder and it isn't happening to me!) - she's tried to pull some of the things in her off. Poor Lydia!

So, we'll be home with the whole family today! Thanks so much for the prayers! I'll keep updating now and then, if she gets any better.

Thanks,

Kimber for the rest
P.S - The above picture is Lydia on Paw-paw in the month that she was born!

Update 13: Lydia

Well, not much has changed with the situation. Lydia's still in the hospital...I don't know when they're leaving and if they are. Paw-paw just took over some fruit that Hannah and I (Kimber) made them and then he'll bring back a report on Lydia. The doctors want to keep Lydia for another night just to monitor her but mommy doesn't want to stay another night. Daddy needs to work since he didn't work yesterday so he's kinda' caught on what to do. Plus with the rainy weather he might not be able to work.

Anyways, not much has changed. All of us children slept well last night and had a wonderful breakfast made by Paw-paw (our grandpa) and now we're watching Cars.

I've read all of the comments on the posts. Thank you all for the prayers, we're all very blessed to know such caring believers in Christ like you all!

Trusting in Jesus,
Kimber

P.S - I'll update again if Paw-paw brings home any news other than "they don't know what's wrong with her, but something about her tells the doctors she's not okay," "might have to stay in the hospital longer," etc.! :)

Update 12: Lydia

Lydia (with daddy and mommy) are spending the night in the hospital. Lydia's okay - nursing fine, smiling at Paw-paw, etc. but every time the doctor looks at her he says something's wrong every time he looks at her but he doesn't know what. They're going to see if she'll throw up again so they can take her throw-up to the lab to check or whatever.

Please pray for me (and all of the rest of the children) because I really just want to hold that sweet, bundle of joy just once more and give mommy and daddy a hug but I can't. I don't know when we'll see any of them next. We're going to Na-naw's house to spend the night.

Our family's been really helpful and we all greatly appreciate their help.

Trusting in Jesus even though it's hard,
Kimber for the rest

Update 11:

Nothing showed up on either, the CAT scan or the upper GI. We still don't know what's going on!

Hannah

Update 10: Lydia

Lydia had a cat scan and I think they're waiting for the results now. Na-naw's here and we're about to eat Wendy's.

For the family,
Kimber

Update 9: Lydia

Lydia is in the ER - whether she's getting looked at...we don't know. Na-naw (our grandma) is coming over bringing lunch for us. Mommy and Daddy haven't called yet...

Trusting,
Kimber for the rest

Update 8: Lydia

Nothing new - we haven't heard back from mommy and daddy. We hope they arrived safely. I'm not sure whether they're in the ER or at a doctor's office. I'll let you know how things are going as soon as they call us.

Trusting,
Kimber for the rest

Update 7: Lydia

Mommy, daddy and Lydia are going to the doctor's now. All of us children are still at home...knowing nothing but Lydia probably still has the object lodged in her throat. Please pray for us, all of us, it's been hard...

Trusting Jesus,
Kimber

Update 6: Lydia

Mommy, daddy and Lydia are here; they arrived last night. Lydia still would wake up in the night screaming. This morning I (Kimber) held her and she would cry, as if in pain, whenever she swallows. Mommy thinks the object that she swallowed hasn't really been swallowed but is still stuck. She's still spitting up "funk" and a little blood. Mommy really thinks it's still in her throat now and they're probably going to see another doctor...Once again, we don't know. We think she has a fever and are at a loss at what to do. We're calling a doctor right now, please pray for wisdom and guidance.

Trusting Jesus,
Kimber

Update 5: Lydia's Returning

Well, so far everything is good. The x-ray showed up and she didn't swallow anything metal so...after mommy nurses her...they're coming home with Paw-paw.

Thanks for the prayers,
Kimber for the Wasses'

Update 4 on Lydia

Na-naw's here and we think all is fine as far as Lydia goes.
Kimber

Update 3: It is Well

Hymns is a great part of our source of music in our family because so many of them have meanings that speak to you. One of them (that is one of my favorites) is the hymn "It is Well," by Horatio G. Spafford. Here's the first verse and chorus:

When peace like a river
Attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot
Though hast taught me to say
It is Well, It is Well
With my soul

--Chorus--
It is well, with my soul, it is well, it is well with my soul!

Horatio G. Spafford lost his 3 daughters in a boat crash - only his wife surviving, lost his son to a disease and lost a line of prosperous buildings to the Chicago fire, yet this man could still say "It is well with my soul!" What a great picture of trust in Jesus!

Trusting,
Kimber for the Wass clan

Urgent Prayer Request - Update 2

2nd update on Lydia's progress:

Lydia is at MCV with my parents, Paw-paw and Uncle Matt. They're about to do an x-ray to say what needs to be done. She evidently has swallowed the object so they have to figure out what to do next. Na-naw (my grandma) is on her way over right now, to watch us until we know what to do because daddy and mommy may not return tonight - we don't know.

Scripture always comforts me in a hard time. I'm reading through Revelation (fitting for the times, now-a-days) but something told me there wouldn't be much comfort there so I flipped to Psalms and started reading Psalm 112:

"Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments..." okay, not exactly very encouraging right now, let's see if there's anything else..."His descendants will be mighty on the earth..." okay still not much..."Surely he [a good man] will never be shaken; the righteous will be in everlasting remembrance. He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established; he will not be afraid..." Oh thank you Jesus! Those words brought so much more strength to trust in Him! While Lydia was crying, choking etc. at our house I just started crying (it is so terrible to see one you love with all your heart suffering) and in my head kept repeating "Jesus, please don't let her die, please don't let her die..." Thank you for your prayers - if you don't mind me adding another one: mommy and daddy. If I love Lydia with all my heart how much harder it must be for mommy, who gave birth to her, and daddy, who saw her being born...I know they love her and don't want her to be in pain, so please pray for strength for them and knowledge on what to do. Thank you so much - they'll appreciate it!

That's my verse(s) for these "Urgent Prayer Requests" Updates.

Jesus is in control,
Kimber

Urgent Prayer Request!

It is 7:30 pm, Thursday November 13, and only Hannah-down are at our house. Mommy and Daddy are in an ambulance with Lydia, going to the hospital. Lydia was choking on something but she was breathing. Nevertheless, she would spit up some blood and "funk" (that's what daddy calls it). Mrs. Smiley - our next-door neighbor - came over and she stayed with us for a little bit and might come back soon. So, Mommy, Daddy and Lydia are on their way to MCV right now and they'll update us along the way. Please pray for Lydia that Jesus will spare her life.

For the rest of the family,
Kimber

P.S - I'll post a verse later...when I update next.
