"Let Freedom Ring"

"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14
First I'd like to say "Happy 4th of July!!" to everyone (or Independence Day). Secondly, I want to write a quick yet hopefully meaningful article.
This is on one of our calendars for this month. The verse is the one I listed above.

This is a close-up of the Statue of Liberty. In New York, she isn't built with a tear trailing down her face. Why? Well the French built and gave us this statue when we gave the credit to Jesus and had Him as the ultimate person in our lives (when America was first started was when this happened). "And they said 'That is hopeless! So we will walk according to our own plans, and we will everyone obey the dictates of his evil heart." (Jeremiah 18:12) Does that verse apply to America? Is it possible that maybe we're losing our freedom....???

This is my Lord, Savior and oh, so much more! He's waiting for America to open its' heart once more to Him and He will gladly come in! "Behold He comes, riding on the clouds, shining like the sun..."
You may be wondering what that has to do with tomorrow. July 4th, 1776, 56 people wrote the Declaration of Independence saying that we no longer would be under Britain's rule. These men sacrificed their lives, fortunes, families and more for Freedom. That's why we have the 4th of July. Without those men (many whom suffered for what they helped write) America would probably not be free! Let America remember to turn back to Jesus - the One who started America!!!!
You can find the Declaration of Independence here: ushistory.org/Declaration
Happy 4th of July!

P.S - Also take time to thank those who have sacrificed their lives for the U.S.A. People like veterans (you can find everywhere!). Also thank and pray for the families who have lost sons/daughters so we can be free!!!!!!!!!!!!

Harvesting Potatoes

"Cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground for out of it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you shall return."
Genesis 3:17a-19
Yesterday morning we dug up the potatoes. When we first planted them we used a 50 pound bag and we about quadrupled it!
Hannah with a potato.

All of our potatoes (missing one 6 gallon bucket full though).

The pile!

I think we're going to be eating lots of potatoes this week!

We're going to can all the potatoes in bad shape this afternoon.

Corn Sucking

"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going." Ecclesiastes 9:10

This is mama trying out something new she found in a book! :)

Weeellll, so far successful, right?

Hope you enjoyed these!

A Father's Daughter,

Hannah

P.S - FYI - She's sucking up potato bugs, beetles, worms - pretty much anything! She did this for about 20 minutes. It was so funny! Kimber

Bible Time

"But Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.' " Matthew 19:14 NKJV
For all those who do not have children; this is a Seth drawing. During Balancing the Sword (a devotional curriculem go to http://balancingthesword.org/) that every morning Seth usually draws, since he can't yet read, about what we're studing. Right now we're in Exodus and we were at the part about the priests royal garments. He kept on hearing over and over "fine woven linen". When he showed us the picture I (Hannah) said, "That looks like a lemon." Mama also confided that it looked like a lemon. Seth then said, "Ya, it's the fine woven Lemon!" Well, it looked like he slightly misunderstood the words. Hope this made your day!

Pictures from This Week!

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."
James 1:17
Can you believe that I haven't posted in 2 days!? :)
Anyways, on Friday night our uncle and family came over for their "To Train Up a Child" discussion and encouragement session. (I made up that name!). Lydia fell asleep on mommy while sucking her thumb. (see below picture)
I made a cake for Justus - their new baby! It was a chocolate cake with Cool Whip Icing! Very yummy! The picture isn't the best because I didn't want to have Justus suspended for a long time like that! His cake says "Welcome Justus" - it's a little hard to see!

We made pretzel houses. This is Lexi's creation. A tepee (spelling?), with an Indian and a bonfire with a pot of something boiling above the fire.

This is Seth's creation. IT is a giraffe reaching into a tree. I thought it was very good!

Josiah and his "giraffe." We were eating lunch and Josiah was putting his Kraft Macaroni and Cheese onto his fork one by one. (Anyone does this when they were a kid - I did!) I took a video but it was a little slow so I thought the picture would do! He asked for a photograph of himself and his famous creation "giraffe." :)

Here is Lydia this morning. She loves her little bear (Thank you Ms. Miller!). I got a couple smiles and noises out of her for you! The video is slow at first but it gets more exciting as it goes on! Lydia is a precious gift from Jesus!

Daddy is leaving for Northern VA after he finishes with lunch. Please pray for protection for him as he's working outside where it is VERY hot and for us that we'll hold together while daddy's gone (plus for protection without the 'man-of-the-house' here!).

Thanks!

Lydia's First Visit to the Skating Ring

"Even a child is known by his deeds, by whether what he does is pure and right."
Proverbs 20:11

Hiding under her blanket

She loves looking at the camera!

I took these pictures while we were at the skating ring Thursday. The pictures are dark because of the low light. She was very interested in all the different lights though!
