Our Special Easter Dinner

"Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen!"
Luke 24:1-6

Last Saturday we made a special dinner to celebrate Jesus' rising again!  We cooked 3 of our chickens, made some other yummy food and read in the Bible about the events leading up to Jesus' resurrection.
Mama serving up the seltzer-pineapple punch!

Lexi beautifully set the table with our best tablecloth, Mama's china plates, and some decorative napkins!

To match the beautiful table we dressed up in "Sunday best."

 The two napkin varieties.

Eating dinner!

After most of us were finished eating, Daddy read from Luke 23.

Josiah listening intently.
(For those of you who have seen Tangled, his face reminded me of Flynn Rider's "smolder." ;)

Hannah, myself and Judah after dinner.

As we cleaned up dinner the boys went and decorated some eggs in the schoolroom!

Once they were done, we sat down in the den and opened our Resurrection eggs.  (The eggs each contained an item that applied to a section in the Gospels about the last supper, betrayal, etc.)

Lydia with the carton of Resurrection eggs!

Daddy passed out the eggs and then he called each colored egg out (in order).  The one who had the egg that was called read the Bible verses connected to the item inside the egg.  When they were finished reading, they guessed what was inside the container and then opened it to see!

Eden reading her verses.

Lydia playing with her orange egg.

Judah playing on Mama's chair.

Seth showing off the item found in his egg:  a cross.

After about 30 minutes of looking up Scripture we finished and proceeded to dessert!

Carrot-Zucchini cake definitely hit the spot! :)

So there was our special Easter dinner!  It was about 10:00 P.M. as we finished dessert (we ate dinner around 7:45), so we soon went to bed! :)

Accomplishment of the Day! :)

About two weeks ago Hannah received her court summons to King William Courthouse for the "Presentation of [her] Driver's License".

This morning at 8:00 she and Daddy left, but not before a quick photo together:

Daddy took my camera with him, so here are 3 pictures of the events that followed:
Getting ready to enter the Courthouse!

The sign says "Under God the People Rule."

We have a habit of taking pictures of landmarks that show America really is (some would say "was") a Christian nation.  Soon the ACLU (or some other group) will try and get all such evidence erased, so we take pictures as real evidence! :)

After getting a small lecture Hannah was the first teen called up and presented with her license.  The license was given to Daddy and then Hannah shook the Judge's hand.

And that was that! :)

Hannah in her car with her license!

Congrats Hannah!  Love you!

P.S. - Hopefully I'll post about our Resurrection Sunday happenings soon! :)
