Seth's Birthday

"Adam, Seth, Enosh"
1 Chronicles 1:1

We all celebrated Seth's 11th birthday on February 23rd.  His day started with the usual, "Happy Birthday" wake up song:

We then proceeded downstairs and to the breakfast table!

Seth picking out his Egg McMuffin.

Seth chose hashbrowns and Egg McMuffins for his breakfast.  As usual, it was all delicious!

Eating breakfast.

 Reading one of his cards.

Seth also chose to have Toaster Strudels and we enjoyed two new flavors this time:  cinnamon bun and boston creme pie.

We celebrated Seth's birthday again on the night after his actual birthday.

Seth had a special pineapple punch for his drink and some sour jelly beans as an appetizer/treat.

The handsome birthday boy!

Eating dinner.

Seth decided on chicken 'n wine sauce, rice, green beans and rolls for dinner.  Hannah did a wonderful job cooking everything!

After dinner came the presents!

Goodies from Hannah.

A gift from Alexis.

Gum from Caleb.

Seth also got the green ball pictured above.  Judah took a liking to its stretchy, squishy, lighting-up abilities!

When Seth opened up Lydia's present to him (a pack of gummies), he started to tell her thank you but she cut him short by jumping on him and giving him a hug.  It was pretty cute! :)

Doritos from Josiah.

Grandpa and Grandma got Seth a build-it-yourself Monster Truck.

When Seth wasn't watching, Judah took it upon himself to grab the goodies. :)

Lighting it up!

"Happy birthday to you..."
Seth conquered the two candles with no problem. :)

We ended Seth's birthday celebrations with his delicious mint chocolate chip ice cream cake and the movie Ice Age.

Our Recent Snow :)

"For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth’; Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength."
Job 37:6

So, I titled this post as "Our Recent Snow".  In reality the snow I'm posting about took place 2 weeks ago.  I'm so behind on posting!!!

Anyways, as I'm sitting here typing I can see the snow falling outside.  Yes, it is snowing right now!  We have had a really mild winter this year.  This week is a good example of what our winter has been like: currently it is in the 30 or 40's and it's supposed to be 70 degrees on Thursday.  What crazy weather!

I really can't complain, though.  This has been one nice winter! :)

Don't you love the fluffy, white brilliance of a fresh snow?!

Two Monday's ago we woke up to this beautiful layer of snow.  It was our first snow that actually stuck and consisted of more than a few millimeters. :)

Caleb, Eden, and I soon went outside to enjoy the special occasion.  I just happened to bring my camera along, too!

We walked over to our little farm and found Halle waiting at the fence for us.

I just happen to think that our cow is the cutest on earth. :)

Our lovely little pasture.

Our ornery, little horse, Misty.

I've tried to get to like Misty and I just haven't got there yet.  I can't say that I've put a whole lot of effort into loving on her but she also doesn't make it easy for you to want to be with her.  She walks away from you when you come up next to her.  Try and hold her halter and she'll whip her head around like she might bite you.  We don't have the best relationship. :)

Halle, on the other hand, is the most lovable little cow.  We really like her!

Caleb let the chickens out and they were a little intimidated by the white stuff on the ground.  They walked around and pecked at the snow...I think it was the first time many of the chickens had seen snow!

Weedels loving on Halle.

One last picture of Halle's big, soft eyes!

Caleb attempting to walk on a tree that fell down (thanks to last year's hurricane :).

Eden with her little snowball that she turned into a mini snowman:
Cute, isn't he? :)

We went back inside and then, after breakfast, Mom declared school was off and we went out and played in the snow some more!

Eden, Josiah, and I traipsed through our woods trying to locate where Caleb and Lexi had disappeared to.  We soon found them sledding down hills and joined them!

Double sledders (they managed to "sled" about 2.4 inches total)!

Daddy improved the sledding lanes and threw snowballs in his spare time. :)

Eden said she was hot, and so she would lay her bare face in the snow.  My suspicions of lunacy have been confirmed. :)

Daddy tried sledding too:
That's Daddy's worried face. :)

Lexi.

We eventually made our way out of the woods and into the warm house, where hot chocolate awaited us!
