Grandpa's Birthday

"Now at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought out the Levites in all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem to celebrate the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings and singing, with cymbals and stringed instruments and harps."

Nehemiah 12:27

On Monday (the 21st) our grandparents, and soon after our uncle and family, came down for Grandpa's birthday at our house.

We were doing Balancing the Sword (family Bible time) when Grandpa and Grandma arrived and we cleaned up and hurried to get things cooking, prepared, etc.

Cooking in the kitchen!

Grandpa making a "cootie catcher!" :)

(For those of you who don't know my Grandpa, he jokes a lot and always has a new trick to show us!)

Alexis and Caleb playing for Grandpa and Grandma.

Hannah playing the piano.

Grandma and Lydia playing the rain stick.

Lydia reaching for Daddy's djembe.

Grandpa and Josiah conversing!

This is what they were conversing about...

:)

We had lots of snacky-type of foods. Of course, one of the options was...veggies!

(Taco dip and chips were the others)

Grandma feeding Lydia

Eating and talking

Uncle Greg tackling Seth

Daddy cooking our Longhorn Beef burgers (longhornbeef.net)! Yummy!

In line for food.

Opening presents

Grandpa picked these cups up and went "I can hear the ocean!" :-D

Grandma and Grandpa dancing to Hannah's music

Grandpa's white cake - which consisted of white cake cut in half, vanilla icecream and crushed Golden Oreos in the middle, and finally vanilla icing on top!

Bringing the cake

The grandchildren - minus Lydia

Throughout the day we played Mexican Train, listened to Jonathan Park (http://www.jonathanpark.com/), ate different foods, talked and enjoyed each other's conversations!

Grandpa, turned 67 this year and we all love him very much!

Willingly Jesus',

Kimber

  1. What a precious time for your family! Thanks for adding the link for the Longhorn beef. I am checking it out. By the way, I saw Kimber and Michelle in Kroger last night but they seemed to be in a hurry and I was to far away to get their attention. Would love to see you sometime!

    Love,
    Desiree
