Lydia's 2nd Birthday Party

"And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard [us]: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul."
Acts 16:14

Last Friday night we celebrated Lydia's 2nd birthday!  We started off the morning by getting her up with the usual routine of going to her room, where she was peacefully sleeping, and singing "Happy Birthday" until she woke up! :)  Before we went upstairs Alexis and a few of the younger ones decorated the house for her.

Lexi is drawing a picture of Lydia with window chalk.

I was sitting on the opposite side of the room, all cozy, doing my devotions, when I saw the sun streaming through the window.  I asked Caleb to get my camera for me (siblings are so nice! :) and this picture came out of it!

After Seth finished making our pancakes, we headed upstairs to wake her up!

Gathering at the door.
As we sang "Happy Birthday" she woke up with this face...

(Good thing no one takes pictures of me when they do this for my birthday :-D)

Daddy got her to smile though, by asking her for her probiotic vitamin (which she was gladly giving in the picture).

We then proceeded back down the stairs and to breakfast! :)

Seth made Lydia a huge blueberry pancake.  She ate the entire thing (and more!).

Her plate decor consisted of sugared raisins from the cereal Raisin Bran (we save them and Lydia calls them "chewies"), chocolate chips that melted in the sunshine, and a sweetart! :)

Eating her pancake! :)

Paw-paw, Na-naw, and G.G. came over around dinner time for Lydia's official "party."  For dinner we had Stouffer's lasagna, peas, salad, and homemade pizza bread.  Dessert consisted of a chocolate cake with Cool Whip icing.

Does that look yummy or what?!!!! :)

Getting ready to sit down and eat.

After the really yummy dinner some of us went outside and others stayed inside to help clean up dinner.

Lydia then went to Paw-paw's shoulders.

She then found Paw-paw's hearing aids and was sticking her fingers behind his ears!

It was pretty funny!

Lydia showing you how you fix hearing aids!

As I headed inside to watch her open her presents, I took this pictures of the crocuses that I had photographed earlier.  Anyone want to guess who the culprit is?

We tried to get Lydia to sit still and open her presents but she wasn't really interested in opening any presents.  I did get a few pictures of her sitting though! :)

When she saw the 2 pairs of shoes that she got, she sat down very quickly and proceeded to explain, as only toddlers can explain, that she wanted to put them on.

Once the shoes were on, she got up and picked up her new bucket and shovel (for our upcoming May beach trip) and disappeared around the corner as if she was going shopping.

Since she wouldn't get stuff out of her own bags, here is some of the adorable clothes she got! :)

Reading a card.

Watching her candles flicker as we sing to her.

Na-naw took this group picture for us.

(She did manage to blow out her own candles!)

Getting ready to eat some icing!

Thus ended Lydia's birthday party! After cake and ice cream Hannah and Mama played songs on the piano and we all sang together. It was a really wonderful time together as a family!

Delighting in Jesus,
Kimber :)
