Homeschool Night March '09 and Other Abstract Pictures

" 'These are the birds you are to detest and not eat because they are detestable: the eagle, the vulture, the black vulture,"
Leviticus 11:13
Daddy often takes me on short 1-2 hour drives around our home to look for photo opportunities. He took Alexis and I driving around sometime last week to look for wildlife and other photo-worthy pictures. Here are a few:

Mr. Vulture.
We kept seeing all these vultures, and I took a lot of "vulture pictures" but this is my favorite.

A dog guarding the flag.

A flock of blackbirds.

More blackbirds.
It's a little difficult to see but the blackbirds have red and yellow markings right around their neck.

A baby calf.

Baby calves attempting to hide from us!
As we were taking the pictures, the owner of the farm (Prestley Farm, I think) drove up to us and he said I could come and take pictures as much as I'd like! :)

We stopped by the post office and as Daddy went inside to get something sent in the mail, he showed us the flag above the post office. This was one of the pictures.

---
Alexis has been practicing the violin often, since she first got to borrow a friends...

She already knows how to play lots of different things on it and is enjoying it (as far as I know! :)
---
Hannah, Alexis and I had finished our WriteShop (writeshop.com - WriteShop is our writing curriculm) papers on journalism, so we needed to have another homeschool night, so the date was set for last Friday.

I didn't have a picture of Daddy on homeschool night that was suitable for the blog, so this is a picture of Daddy cutting up pineapple a few days ago. :)

Lydia and Mommy.

Lydia sharing the phone with Hannah.

Seth.
Since he doesn't do WriteShop, showed us some of the pictures he's drawn and I think he also showed us some of his handwriting.

Caleb doesn't do WriteShop either so he showed us his handwriting and a few other things.

Alexis showed us her WriteShop papers (we had 2 reports).

Hannah reading one of her WriteShop papers.
And, since I was photographer, I was last (by choice (: ) and I had to give over my camera to Hannah and Lexi. Not fun. What's even less fun is having people take pictures of you...

I don't think I need to explain.

And to end, here's a picture of my adorable sister! She'll be one next week - I can't believe it! :)
Overjoyed to belong to Jesus,
Kimber :)
