Kimber's License!

On August 8th Kimber Ashley Wassenberg passed her behind-the-wheel test!  She now has a license!!!!!  She’s grow’n up on us. :'(  Anyway, enough of the tears- we’re excited for her! :)  She is very happy to be able to drive to her job down the road now, as well as go to photography sessions without worrying about how to get to and from them! :)  Well, enough talk.  Here are some pictures from her big day!

Dowy was working on cabinets that day so he wished her well before she took off.
Lydia also was there to wave good-bye! :)

 We’re there!!!!!!!!
Getting ready to get out of the car and take the test!
Daddy filling out his sheet (he had to renew his license).

Kimber got her picture taken to put on her license if she passed
She was trying not to laugh at daddy in this picture. :)

Daddy eventually went away because he kept making her laugh! :-D
 Off she goes!!

They’re back...
 and happy….that’s a good sign. :)

This is the man Kimber took the test with- he is filling out some sort of paper-work in this picture.

When her number was shown on the screen, she went up to see her results.
 YAY!!! SHE PASSED!!!! :-D

To celebrate we stopped by a Sheetz gas-station on the way home and Kimber picked out some...

.....doughnuts to share!! Don't those look mouth-wateringly delicious!!!????

Thanks for reading!
The next post about driving (which will happen next year ;) is going to be about me getting my learners permit!! :)  Scary, I know.  :)  Just thought I’d share that exciting piece of news with you folks. :)
I  know we’ve been slacking recently on the posts and all, but I’m trying to make up for it. :)

Oh, and one more thing before I end this post: the last week of August is our annual beach vacation with mom’s side of the family.  This year everyone is coming…I can’t wait!! Please pray that we’ll have great weather and servants hearts the whole trip- it would be greatly appreciated! :)
Have a blessed day!

Joyfully His,
Alexis
Ps- You might want to stay off all roads and sidewalks…KIMBER HAS HER LICENSE!!!  8-O  Just kidding. ;)

Accomplishment of the Day! :)

About two weeks ago Hannah received her court summons to King William Courthouse for the "Presentation of [her] Driver's License".

This morning at 8:00 she and Daddy left, but not before a quick photo together:

Daddy took my camera with him, so here are 3 pictures of the events that followed:
Getting ready to enter the Courthouse!

The sign says "Under God the People Rule."

We have a habit of taking pictures of landmarks that show America really is (some would say "was") a Christian nation.  Soon the ACLU (or some other group) will try and get all such evidence erased, so we take pictures as real evidence! :)

After getting a small lecture Hannah was the first teen called up and presented with her license.  The license was given to Daddy and then Hannah shook the Judge's hand.

And that was that! :)

Hannah in her car with her license!

Congrats Hannah!  Love you!
Kimber and fam :)

P.S. - Hopefully I'll post about our Resurrection Sunday happenings soon! :)

Two Firsts

Well two things have happened recently that haven't happened in our family before!  I'll start with the latest one:

HANNAH GOT HER LICENSE! :)

Yesterday morning she headed off to the DMV in Tappahanock ,with her fantastic teacher Dad, to take her on-road test!  She did great!
A hug from Mama after returning home!

We're all really excited for Hannah!  She's been waiting and working to get her license for quite some time.  All the hard work has paid off!

"And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise."
Hebrews 6:15

Now for announcement #2:

Judah had his first bites of cereal last Friday!

Here are some pictures of his reactions:
Get ready...get set...it is coming to get meeeee!!!!!

...go!

Hmmm...maybe it wasn't as good as he thought. :)

Here comes another bite!
He may not look like he enjoyed it but he actually would lean forward to the bowl in Daddy's hands, and reach out for more!

Give me more!  Give me more!

Now I have a few more things to say before I end...

#1.  Hannah started a blog for young ladies (principally those around her age or younger) to encourage daughters to Delight in Jesus.  She's written a few posts up already and her blog is really neat!  Go here to view it!

#2.  We're getting around 100 chicks this weekend!  The boys (Caleb and Seth) will be responsible for half...raising the chicks to be prolific egg producers!!  Look out in the future for the announcement of fresh eggs from the Wassenberg's farm! :)

#3.  My wonderful Uncle Kevin (and a friend Darryl) are starting a car washing/detailing business on the side.  They are willing to come to you to get your car looking nice and clean...and I can testify that Uncle Kevin is a great person, so you couldn't go wrong with contacting him and letting him clean up your car!  To reach Uncle Kevin and his friend, email them at Rimnantdetail@gmail.com  They look forward to hearing from you!

Okay, that's all (I think!).
Kimber :)
